COMMUNITY NEWS BULLETIN: Retired Building Contractor Turned Lumberjack Thanks Community for Support During Road Incident

Tupi Bids Farewell –By Sarah Greene – Community Press Weekly | July 25, 2025

What started as a challenging day for the local timber route turned into a heartwarming display of community strength and patience, as Engr. Tupi, a retired building contractor turned full time lumber businessman, issued a heartfelt message of appreciation following a minor roadside incident involving one of his lumber trucks.

Earlier this week, a fully loaded truck from the Tupi Family Lumber Company experienced a brief malfunction, causing several large logs to spill and block a portion of the main access road just outside town. Thanks to the swift response from local safety personnel and the calm cooperation of residents and motorists, the situation was quickly resolved with no injuries or major damages.

In an official statement, Engr. Tupi, known across the region for his decades in construction and recent transition into the family lumber business, offered sincere gratitude to the entire community.

“I want to thank every neighbor, every driver, and every community member who showed patience and understanding during the delay caused by our truck,” said Tupi. “The road was cleared faster than expected because people didn’t just wait they offered help, stayed calm, and trusted us to handle the situation.

He extended special thanks to the local fire department, road safety teams, and volunteers who assisted on site, as well as to his dedicated team of lumber workers who worked tirelessly under pressure.

Tupi also extended personal thanks to those who stood by him during his transition:

“To my daughter Jade your constant encouragement and understanding means everything. Watching you grow and lead your own family has been one of my proudest accomplishments.”

“And to my partner, Lady D thank you for reminding me that love, too, can be rebuilt. You’ve been my peace in the storm, and I look forward to the quiet joys we’ll share in Canada. With plans now fully set to relocate to Canada for a quieter retirement life, Engr. Tupi reflects not on the structures he’s left behind but on the relationships, the lessons, and the legacy he’s taking with him.

Incidents like this test more than logistics they show the spirit of the people around you,” he said. “And this community passed that test with flying colors.
With the road back open and operations resumed, Engr. Tupi plans to personally visit several homes and local businesses affected by the delay to offer thanks in person.
As one chapter ends and another continues in the rhythm of saws and timber, Tupi remains rooted in what matters most people, patience, and purpose.

From timber to trust, Engr. Tupi’s journey reminds us that true legacies are built with people. Thank you for reading. We’ll see you in the next edition.
